Hyundai Bringing Plug-in EV Soon?

Hyundai CEO John Krafcik proclaimed the car company would shoot for a 50-mile-per-gallon fleet average by 2025. The automaker will focus on launching additional hybrids, introducing the BlueOn electric vehicle and eventually debuting a plug-in hybrid.

Green Car Journal has named the 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid as a finalist for the 2011 Green Car of the Year award.  Each year, five finalists are considered for the Green Car of the Year award, an honor that recognizes fuel-efficient vehicles and the environmental leadership they bring to the auto industry. Hyundai Shows Off First Hybrid Car

Hyundai Motors unveiled the BlueOn earlier this week. It's the first all electric vehicle to be produced by the Korean auto maker.

The car is an electric version of the Hyundai i10 hatchback, showcased as an electric concept at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The BlueOn is named after Hyundai's Blue Drive eco-friendly lineup that one will be able to "switch on" according to Hyundai.
