It's taking the world by storm! Er, or at least the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. What is "it?" The 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT! The GT is an all-new hatchback body style for the Hyundai Elantra, and it's amazing Chicago Auto Show visitors at this very moment!
The new four-door hatchback Hyundai joins the standard Elantra sedan and another new body style for 2013- a coupe variant. The GT is sure to turn heads; it looks much more like a traditional wagon than the outgoing Touring model, which was skipped over for a refresh in 2011 when the sedan was completely redesigned. The GT will compete with such vehicles as the Ford Focus, Subaru Impreza, and Mazda3 hatchbacks, but it will hold the advantage of being a fresh face in the market, though it's based heavily on the European-market hatchback named the Hyundai i30.
The coupe variant is expected anytime now, but you'll have to wait until later on in the year to see the Hyundai Elantra GT. An available Technology Package is one of the GT's best features. It includes a backup camera with an interesting twist. Instead of a fixed camera, the GT has a hidden camera under its rear "H" badge. This camera flips up when the vehicle is in reverse. The GT also features sporty driving dynamics (with an optional Style Package), three steering modes (Normal, Sport, and Comfort), flat-folding rear seats, heated front seats, leather seating, Blue Link Safety, and a multimedia entertainment system as standard. Fuel economy ratings are an impressive 29 city mpg /39 mpg highway.
Pricing and arrival date should be announced soon for the 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT, so be sure to stay tuned with Carter County Hyundai, located at 616 Holiday Dr. Ardmore, OK 73401 for more updates as they become available.
