Powertrain Mystery No Longer Surrounds the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

If you've been paying close attention to Hyundai news lately, you know that the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe will make its universal debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in January. However, you may also know that the vehicle's powertrain information has been kept under "lock and key" by the company. Good news, readers. Carter County Hyundai can now release those specs to you. Following a launch in South Korea last week, the company announced that the new Coupe will (again) come with your choice of naturally aspirated V-6 or four-cylinder turbo engine, but with more torque and power than the current 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

The new Genesis Coupe see  61-horsepower and 52-lb.-ft. of torque increase for the four-cylinder version. This brings its total stats to 271-hp and 275 lb.-ft. of torque, due to its new twin-scroll turbocharger and larger intercooler. The powerful new V6 model sees a striking 39-hp and 29-lb.-ft. of torque increase due to its direct injector, making its total performance now equal 345 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. The new vehicle will also come with the option of a newly-developed eight-speed automatic. The six-speed manual will remain standard. Along with these upgrades, the new Coupe will feature a sleek and aerodynamic exterior, which will give it a more powerful presence than ever before.
