Hyundai is growing! For the second year in a row, the automaker has nearly doubled its sales compared to the same record-setting period this time last year. The company, which recently received the award for "Highest Residual Value" in its class from ALG, announced on Dec. 1, 2011 that it had sold almost 50 thousand vehicles in November, a 22 percent total sales increase and 24 percent retail sales increase vs. last November.

Most of these sales can be pinned to the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. As Dave Zuchowski, Executive Vice President of National Sales for Hyundai Motor America explains, "The Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, including 'Black Friday,' proved to be a very strong selling period and helped us break our all-time November sales record. With vehicle availability at the highest levels for the year, and with positive demand signals and improving consumer confidence, Hyundai is positioned for a very strong December finish to this record-breaking year."¹ Wow! What great news for the company! So far this year, Hyundai sales are up 21 percent vs. 2010, and sales to retail customers are up 30 percent

Why do consumers adore the Hyundai brand so much? Well, 36 of Hyundai vehicles sold in November achieved at least 40 MPG fuel ratings, so maybe consumers are choosing vehicles that save them money at the pump.
