Hyundai's Elantra on Twitter

These days, everyone's on Twitter - including Hyundai. The Korean auto maker released a staged "spy photo" via TwitPic, Twitter's photo application, of its upcoming 2011 Elantra. It's part of a teaser campaign for the compact's reveal at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The photo consists of an undisguised 2011 Elantra spotted on the streets of San Francisco.

Hyundai Breaks Sales Records

In October, Hyundai set its ninth monthly sales record in the past 10 months. Sonata continued to lead Hyundai's sales with 17,505 sold last month. That's up from 7,790 a year earlier.

Overall, Hyundai sold 42,656 vehicles in the United States, up from 31,005 in October 2009. It was Hyundai's best October for U.S. sales, and gave the company 452,703 vehicles sold this year. Hyundai's yearly record is 467,009, set in 2007. That number is likely to fall in the first half of November.

Hyundai New Title Sponsor of PGA TOUR’s Season-Opening Event

The PGA TOUR, Hyundai Motor America and Seoul Broadcasting System International (SBS) today announced that Hyundai has become the title sponsor of the PGA TOUR's season-opening tournament at The Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii for the next three years.

As part of this agreement and commencing with the 2011 tournament, the event is being renamed the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, reintroducing the tournament's original moniker that highlights the exclusive field of PGA TOUR tournament winners from the prior season. This title sponsorship continues Hyundai's "Big Voices in Big Places" strategy, positioning the Hyundai brand in the highest profile advertising venues including the NFL's Super Bowl, an exclusive automotive sponsorship of the Academy Awards and a global sponsorship of the 2010 FIFA World Cup?.
Green Car Journal has named the 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid as a finalist for the 2011 Green Car of the Year award.  Each year, five finalists are considered for the Green Car of the Year award, an honor that recognizes fuel-efficient vehicles and the environmental leadership they bring to the auto industry. The 2011 Green Car of the Year will be announced at the Los Angeles Auto Show during the show's second press day on Nov. 18.

Hyundai Equus Gets Dubbed for SEMA

The all new Hyundai Equus won't even hit dealership lots this month, but when the car goes to SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) it will come with a fully (and beautiful) DUB variant to be gawked at. Equus is a gorgeous but not overly flashy luxury ride - that is why fabricators at Dub magazine have taken over the flashy department.

Hyundai - More American Than Detroit?

First the Beatles said they were bigger than Jesus - now a foreign auto maker has made a statement that could its equivalent in the automotive community - Hyundai is more American than Detroit. Ok, to be honest Hyundai didn't exactly say that, CNN.com did. But the facts are in:
